| 概要 | This study examines the impact of Early English Exposure/Education (EEE) on Japanese students’ listening and reading proficiency after adolescence. Longitudinal TOEIC Bridge IP data were collected four times over three years from 252 senior high school students. Based on questionnaire responses, five exposed groups (EGs) and one unexposed group (UG) were formed according to EEE timing. Marginal means and hierarchical models via MCMC Bayesian estimations showed that students with two or more years of EEE had higher listening and reading scores at school entry (intercepts), but similar growth rates (slopes) during high school. These initial differences persisted until graduation, suggesting that comparable total English exposure could allow the UG to catch up. |
