| 概要 | When evaluating others' linguistic performances in their daily lives, individuals conform to very different norms that are related to their own personalities. Thus, even when considering the same linguistic performance, the evaluation can vary widely among different evaluators. For individuals to develop good relationships with others from different linguistic and/or cultural backgrounds, it is important for them to (1) realize the kind of norms they conform to while evaluating others' linguistic performances and (2) respect the norms of others, which may be significantly different from their own. The author is planning to develop a training system, the purpose of which is to foster the above-mentioned attitudes. This paper presents basic research which can serve as the theoretical basis of the training system. The author proposes an Evaluation Process Model which expresses both the diversity and the universality of evaluation processes that can be observed when native Japanese speakers evaluate letters of apology that are written in Japanese by non-native speakers. |
