標題	Developing the Ten-Minute Vocabulary Tests for Quick and Approximate Estimates of General English Ability of Japanese EFL Learners

概要	This study developed a vocabulary test designed to efficiently and quickly assess English proficiency among Japanese-speaking learners of English. The following four findings support the validity of the test: (1)The receptive vocabulary knowledge test administered in written format demonstrated a moderately strong correlation with both a written-only English proficiency test (administered to high school students) and a combined listening-and-writing English proficiency test (administered to university students), comparable to that of a listening-based vocabulary test. (2) Exploratory factor analyses revealed that the first factor extracted from the written-only English proficiency test (for high school students) included receptive vocabulary knowledge measured by the written test.
